LC District Health Department Stresses Sun Safety
Each year thousands of people are diagnosed with skin cancer. A child’s
risk of skin cancer increases each time they’re sunburned before the age
of 18. Wear clothing to protect as much skin as possible. Seeing light
through a fabric means UV rays can get through too. Wear a hat with at
least at two to three inch brim, and sunglasses that block UV rays. Avoid
being outdoors too long. Harmful rays are most intense between 10AM
and 4PM. For more info – call Tishanna at the Wayne County Health
Department at 348-9349, Extension 237.
