Clinton County Circuit Jury Finds Roberts Brothers Guilty
After 9 hours of deliberations on Thursday, June 19th - a Clinton
County Circuit Court Jury finished deliberations just before noon
on Friday regarding the Commonwealth’s murder case against
Thomas and Phillip Roberts in connection with the death of 73
year old Frank Perdue.

Phillip Roberts was found guilty of 1st Degree Manslaughter and
2nd degree Burglary. Thomas Roberts was found guilty of
Wreckless Homicide and 2nd degree Burglary.

In the penalty phase of the trial – jurors recommended that Phillip
Roberts receive 15 years on the Manslaughter, 1st charge and 5
years on the Burglary charge – the sentences to run concurrent
for a total of 15 years. Due to the Manslaughter charge being
considered a violent offense – Phillip Roberts will have to serve
85% of his 15 year sentence before being eligible for parole.

Thomas Roberts will serve 5 years for the Wreckless Homicide
charge and 10 years for the Burglary 2nd charge – the sentences
to run consecutive for a total of 15 years. Thomas Roberts would
be eligible for parole after serving 20% of his 15 year sentence.
