Wayne County receives overs $120,000 in grant funding
Wayne County Judge/Executive Greg Rankin and Solid Waste Coordinator Tim Bell received excellent news earlier this week as Wayne County requested and received a grant from the Kentucky Division of Waste Management for $120,546 to expand the county’s recycling program. The money will be used to purchase an Excel Model EX 63 Horizontal Manual Tie Baler with a conveyor system, four Pro SR16 21-cubic yard roll-off recycle boxes with internal compartments, one Sure-Trac low profile flatbed trailer, plus fund a one day household hazardous waste collection, all of which will support the county’s growing recycling project.

“We have obtained nearly $420,000.00 the past five years from the state, which I think speaks volumes about the job Wayne County is doing in recycling. We continue to expand our services, at no cost to the local citizens. I’m very proud of Tim Bell and his staff for their efforts and I’m also pleased with the response we’ve received from the people throughout our county,” said County Judge/Executive Greg Rankin.
