Wayne County Schools Off To Great Start With 3145 Students
Wayne County Schools got off to a great start on Wednesday, August
5th with 3145 students. Attendance records showed 934 students at
Wayne County High School, 759 at Wayne County Middle School, 707
at Monticello Elementary, 476 at Bell Elementary and 208 students at
Walker's Early Learning Center. In addition, 38 students are attending
Otter Creek Academy and 23 are enrolled at Lake Cumberland Youth
Development Center.

Last year a total of 3206 students were in attendance at the start of
the 2014-15 school year. Administrators expect the current totals to
change slightly over the next couple of days and level off on Monday.
Preschoolers are not yet included in these totals since they start on
August 17th, just after their phase-in transition days on August 12th
and 13th.
