Man assaulted while vehicle stopped at stop light in Somerset
According to Sheriff Greg Speck, deputies were dispatched to the scene of an assault of a Bethelridge, Kentucky man near Burger King South at approximately 9 pm on May 22, 2016.

Upon arrival at the scene near the intersection of South Highway 27 and Slate Branch Road, Deputy Seath Whiles found Jason R. Wesley, age 33 of 6747 North Highway 837, Bethelridge, Kentucky unconscious in the roadway. Deputy Whiles learned from witnesses that Wesley had been dragged from his automobile and assaulted while stopped at light #24 by Joshua K. Pyles, age 32 of 5399 Scenic Vista Drive, Somerset, Kentucky.

Jason Wesley was treated at the scene by personnel from the Somerset/Pulaski County EMS and transported to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was later air lifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Joshua K. Pyles was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Assault and was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.
