Plea agreements have been entered for Ronnie Muse, J.L. Muse and Paul Ronald “Curly” Dunagan in US District Court in London. Wednesday, October 5th - 69 year old James Ronald “Ronnie” Muse and James Lewis, also known as J.L. Muse entered plea agreements to conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine, as well as a forfeiture allegation.
The statutory punishment for the offense for Ronnie and JL Muse is imprisonment for not less than ten years nor more than life, a fine of not more than ten million dollars, and a term of supervised release of at least five years.
Beginning in or about June of 2013 through June of 2015 – Ronnie Muse allegedly worked with Paul Ronald Dunagan, also known as Curly – James Lewis also known as JL Muse, Clinton Emery Stowers, Ismael Gonzalez , Odneil Gonzalez and others to sell multiple pound quantities of meth throughout the Eastern District of Kentucky.
In the plea agreement - Ronnie Muse is to also forfeit all interest in property listed in a forfeiture allegation of a Third Superseding Indictment and execute any necessary documents – $27,835 of $42,835 in cash, a 38 revolver and six rounds of ammunition. Muse also acknowledged that the United States could seek forfeiture of interest in his residential real property, and a money judgment totaling 660 thousand dollars. Ronnie Muse is to dispose of nine pieces of heavy equipment and forfeit the entire proceeds.
Court documents reportedly indicate J.L. Muse is to pay 24 thousand dollars cash in lieu of forfeiting real property in a Third Superseding Indictment.
On Tuesday, October 4th - 59 year old Paul Ronald “Curly” Dunagan pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine. Dunagan admitted to maintaining and controlling a storage shed housing meth as well as traveling with J.L. Muse to Tennessee to deliver a pound of meth in July 2015.
It appears that most defendants have accepted plea agreements. Clinton Stowers already pleaded guilty September 28 to conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine.Ismael Gonzalez was indicted the week of September 26th in Louisville for his alleged involvement in a drug ring spanning into Mexico.
Sentencing for Ronnie Muse, Paul Ronald “Curly” Dunagan and Clinton Stowers will be held in February of 2017 in London.
